一. 品德教育Moral Education
Moral education is a core focus in this kindergarten. Each school year, the school will provide different themes and topics related to moral education for all kindergarten levels — relevant games and activities are implemented in daily classes, so that children can develop good character through practice.
奧福音樂 Orff music：
To recognize melody, rhythm, tempo, scale (Do Re Mi) and musical instruments. During musical games, students learn to use their imagination and body movement through stories, role-playing and rhythmic activities.
To cultivate children’s sense of rhythm at an early age and provide them the opportunity to have full exposure to drum playing and enhance children’s interest in music.
To understand the sound and playing skills of the harmonica. During this learning activity each child will have one harmonica.
粵劇 Cantonese Opera：
To cultivate children’s learning of the Chinese culture through Cantonese nursery rhymes. With easy simple lyrics, the nursery rhymes are used to allow children to learn about Chinese musical instruments, Cantonese opera singing, with hand movements and footwork. Through daily classroom learning activities, they can learn about Chinese culture from different perspectives.
三. 主題教學Thematic Learning
The themes set at all levels are mainly based on children’s life experiences and daily activities. Through thematic activities, related visits, talks and life experience and other learning activities, children can learn and broaden their horizons. It extends from the classroom to the community/society, and the usage of mind maps to summarize the theme for children’s understanding as well as continuously have an active and spontaneous learning attitude.
Chinese and English “writing practice” and “reading practice” activities are implemented to enhance students’ “listening, speaking, reading and writing” ability and interest in learning.
五. 專科教學 Specialized Subjects
English lessons are taught by English teachers where students get to interact with different English Teachers. The purpose of having different English Teachers in class is to allow the children to hear different accents. This will enhance their English listening abilities and with the liveliness of the class, children are more interested in learning the English Language.
普通話課堂 Mandarin lesson：
The usage of Putonghua’s “consonants” and “vowels” sound cards as teaching materials, with stories, nursery rhymes and games can strengthen students’ listening and speaking ability and interest in Mandarin.
Japanese class has been added and a professional Japanese teacher uses games and singing to teach children, so that children have the opportunity to get in touch with languages of different countries.
六. 資訊學習活動Technical/Information Learning Activities
-Using the EVI online education platform can provide students and parents with online learning opportunities.
-The implementation of the e-library, includes: “Cambridge English Story” and “Chinese Ferris Wheel Reading”, these will allow children to read with their parents after class, and also enhance parent-child relationship and cultivate interest and ability in reading.
-With our “Learning Tablet”, learning contents include Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, General Studies, Science, Art, Moral Education and Chinese Culture.
七. 美藝創作Arts and Crafts
Different types of art activities for children can guide children to appreciate famous paintings and inspire a child’s own artistic creation.
Our school uses the Continuous Assessment system that has been developed to assess children’s physical and mental development, learning evaluation, student’s family life journal, and also conduct overall evaluation through continuous observation of children’s learning performance.
